A Note From Bobby Osborne...
First of all, Alan Bibey is a great mandolin player and a great friend. I've known him quite some time. I appreciate his mandolin playin' and singin'. Always have.
During the time of the
Flatt & Scruggs breakup, they were scheduled to play in Sandy
Ridge, NC. and Earl's wife called Sonny and asked could we fill in for
them. The thing I remember in talking with Alan about this show, he
told me he was coming to Sandy Ridge to see Flatt & Scruggs and
didn't know about their breakup until he got there and found out that
the Osborne Brothers were playing instead. So, he stayed for the show
anyway and he tells me that my mandolin playin' and singin' impressed
him so that he became an Osborne Brothers fan and patterned his playin'
and singin' after me.
He is the greatest! Welcome to the new Alan Bibey web site!
